The USB 3.0 standard strikes again, as ADATA is officially introducing a new flash drive unit that communicates over that particular interface: the DashDrive Elite UE700. DashDrive Elite is a fairly old ADATA product line. It is made of high-end storage devices for businessmen and anyone else who feels like owning good-looking and secure storage devices.

Since the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed standard allows for high data rates, the newcomer, or rather newcomers (there are three capacity options), can achieve read speeds of 200 MB/s and write speeds of 100 MB/s.

That's better than most other USB sticks out there at the moment, though one might argue that the “Elite” moniker demands no less.

The speed will depend on the final capacity though, being reliant on the number of chips the controller can write to and read from at the same time.

Speaking of which, there are 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB models, all of them with retractable USB connectors and brushed aluminum cases with concentric lines. All three sticks have LED activity indicators as well.

As for software, ADATA's DashDrive Elite UE700 ship with the latest Norton Internet Security 2013 software (60-day trial), plus UFDtoGO and OstoGO “value-add software.”

“Available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, the UE700 is looking to be the smart choice for professionals and those who place a high value on data speed and security,” the company says in its official announcement.

All three DashDrive Elite UE700 USB flash drives are “a striking blend of technological development and design aesthetics” and have lifetime warranties.

So far, we've only found product pages in the East, but we assume the newcomers are available worldwide, or will be shortly. Prices haven't been disclosed yet, however.
