Hip-hop queen Nicki Minaj brought the insanity on ABC’s Good Morning America for the Summer Concert series and, with it, a very Janet Jackson-type of wardrobe malfunction during the live performance. The network has apologized for it.

Dressed in colorful tights and a neon green top, Nicki performed for the fans who had come out to see her (and the millions at home), and got a bit carried away with the performance.

At one point during the routine, both her breasts came out from the minuscule top. She realized it immediately and made sure the slip didn’t happen again but, by that time, the damage was done.

Faced with harsh criticism, especially from the PTC, ABC has issued a statement to apologize for the slip and set the record straight: they did have a 5-second delay in the live transmission precisely for such incidents.

Yet, it happened.

“Though we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on GMA , the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones,” ABC says.

“We are sorry that this occurred,” the statement further says, as cited by Just Jared.

The PTC (Parents Television Council) is not satisfied with the apology, saying the network should have made sure children at home and in the park at the time of the performance wouldn’t be exposed to such imagery.

“For the umpteenth time in recent memory a morning news show has included inappropriate content for children and families,” the group says in a statement issued to TMZ.

It even argues that ABC is not using the 5-second delay it claims was in place at the time of the Nicki Minaj transmission.

“Instead of asking for forgiveness, they need to stop apologizing and implement the five second delay that so many Americans have been calling for,” the PTC adds.

Meanwhile, fans of the rapper also got to hear her speak of her plans for the future, which may include a duet with Madonna or Lauryn Hill and some acting. Check out the video below.
