With this, you'll be safer at night, and have a clearer view

Most means of transportation have some way to light your path in the evening or at night, but skateboards are not among them. A3D Labs is none too impressed with this, so it made some.

The company has 3D printed some headlights through a collaboration with ShredLights.

They are meant to be mounted on the underside of the board, in front of the wheels.

The light comes out like a blue haze and can look much like a jet if you flip the board around during tricks. You can also be sure that it will make your night stunts look a lot cooler too.

The range of the light is, perhaps, not the greatest ever, but it should still reach a few good meters ahead, so you'll be forewarned if you're about to crash into a wall or stumble over a sidewalk edge.

Drew Page, the founder of Shredlights, talks about the lights, and A3D Lab's “What Will You Print” series, in the video embedded above. The Elixir3D Printer was used to make the headlights, and is being employed in the making of various other items that can make life easier or otherwise enrich it, and “bridge the gap between dreamers and doers.”
