With Batman: Arkham Asylum coming soon, the people at Eidos and Warner Bros. Interactive are detailing the Collector's Edition of the game. If you plan on fighting the biggest enemies of the Dark Knight, you have to be prepared for what's to come, so some of the items in the package are very, very necessary, especially for those who want to keep up-to-date with the shenanigans of the toughest villains in Gotham city.

Here's what a player gets when picking up the Collector's Edition of Batman: Arkham Asylum: a 14-inch Batarang with a stand, which is modeled after the one used in the game; a Doctor's Journal, taken directly from one of the physicians at Arkham, detailing all the afflictions observed on the various patients within the holding cells on 38 pages, complete with a leather protection jacket; a behind-the-scenes DVD that shows how the game was created; a full color manual, explaining all the more obscure elements of the videogame; a code for a Challenge Map that can be downloaded for their game and, last but no least, the Crime Alley map.

Batman: Arkham Asylum has been created by Eidos and Warner Bros. Interactive with full access to the original license, which encompasses the latest movie, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale. This is dark Batman who gets locked together with some of the most powerful and dangerous criminals in Gotham in the cells of Arkham Asylum, which is part penitentiary, part mad house. The complete gadget arsenal of Batman is available to players as they cling to the shadows in an effort to scare the living day lights out of enemies just before assaulting them by surprise.

Apart from LEGO Batman, which takes a more humorous approach, no videogame until now has managed to translate the Batman license into an interesting experience. Let's see what Arkham Asylum can do with Batman.
