Turn the audience around with TurningPoint

If you want to create a presentation containing images and text, eventually add some music or speech to it, but you have no idea what software application to use for this, most people will tell you to get Microsoft's PowerPoint. I know that this is a ubiquitous presentation software for the Mac OS and Windows, but that doesn't mean the alternatives are bad - they are simply not well known enough by the public, and apart from the alternatives, there are also tools that can improve the quality and interactivity of your PowerPoint presentations...

Today, I will introduce you to a new tool for creating presentations, Turningpoint, a Turning Technologies product that fully integrates into Microsoft PowerPoint and allows your audience to be an active part of your lectures or presentations by submitting responses to interactive questions using a ResponseCard keypad or other hand-held/computer device compatible with the system.

The benefit of this response system is obvious - just think about presenting a new product or a beta release and being able to get real time feedback from the audience and find out what should be improved and, most important of all, getting to know the needs of your clients - much in the same way a teacher performs quizzes at the end of each lecture and sees what are the parts he or she should insist on to help the students - and it doesn't stop here...

The first version for Mac of this program has a setup package of 2.5 MB in size that can be downloaded from our website by going here, and requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later and PowerPoint 2004 or higher. Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about the price, so you'll have to contact Turning Technologies and get some first hand information.
