Philips borrowed from its TV division technological innovations for its SPC900NC webcam. The new 1,3 megapixel webcam that uses Pixel Plus and Digital Natural Motion technologies can offer up to 90 frames per second, the resulting video having more sharper movements.

SPC900NC comes bundled with the VLogic software that allows users to capture, edit, organize and archive video clips and photos. Also, they can be printed or sent by e-mail.

The Pixel plus image processor rises the number of lines and pixels, giving a natural depth to the image and a higher detail level. The Digital Natural Motion eliminates the juddering effect that is visible when sudden motion occurs. Another interesting feature is Face Finding, which automatically detects faces in the frame and centers the image on them, even if they are moving.

The Philips CCD sensor assures quality images even in dim light (0,5 lux). For the QWGA resolution, SPC900NC captures at 90 frames per second and for the 640 X 480 resolution - captures at 60 frames per second.

The new Philips webcam is compatible with all the instant messaging services and can be mounted on the monitor with the help of its multifunctional stand. The built in microphone allows voice recording and audio/video conferences. SPC900NC will be available starting February 2006.
