A Story About My Uncle is coming to Steam on May 28, offering a first-person platforming adventure experience like no other.

The game's story revolves around a boy searching for his lost uncle, winding up in a wondrous world he has never imagined could exist. With the help of his uncle's incredible inventions, he is able to leap to impressive heights through the beautiful scenery and use a grappling hook to navigate the stunning environments.

Players will step into the shoes of the young protagonist, uncovering clues regarding his uncle's whereabouts and meeting various fantastical creatures along their way.

The gameplay of A Story About My Uncle is tied with its unbridled freedom of movement, which is a crucial part of the experience. Players will be able to swing through the world by using the grappling hook, a tool which gives a wonderful sense of speed and freedom and making the exploration of the mysterious world more exciting.

The entire game is structured as a bedtime story that a father is telling his young daughter. The father's biggest dream as a young boy was to follow his uncle Fred on his incredible adventures around the world.

One day, Fred disappears, and the boy decides to embark on an adventure to find him, ending up in another world, of lost civilizations and mystical landscapes, that slowly unravels its mysteries before the player.

By using his uncle's inventions, he makes his way through massive underground caves, uncovering the clues to what happened to Fred and encountering various creatures to help him on his journey. The inhabitants of the underground world all have their own stories and fates.

Although A Story About My Uncle is a first-person game, the focus is on exploration and narrative, being a completely non-violent game, with a heavy emphasis on atmosphere and story.

A Story About My Uncle is being developed by Gone North Games, a small Swedish studio founded by 9 passionate students, supported as publishers by Coffee Stain Studios, creators of the Sanctum series of tower-defense / first-person shooter games and the implausible but true Goat Simulator.

The game initially started as a university project, but after being nominated for Game of the Year in the Swedish Game Awards 2012, the project picked up speed and delved deeper into the power of Unreal Engine, until the final version emerged, promising a captivating and visually impressive experience.

A Story About My Uncle is going live on Steam on May 28.
