Looking great in your window

Just how many times have you dressed too lightly or put too many clothes on you just because you didn't bother to check what was going on with the weather? Or, even worse, be tricked by the light outside and thought it was nice and warm and forgotten to look at the thermometer displaying a few degrees above zero? Well, it's time to put an end to all these and get yourself a very neat thermometer that will not only help you get the bigger picture of the weather but also look extremely cool.

Transparent displays have always been cool, especially as we were gazing at such devices in SciFi movies like Start Trek or Minority Report.

Technology has made serious steps in this direction and transparent liquid crystal screens are now a thing we've gotten used to. Yet, this new thermometer from La Crosse Technology is one thing we'd have installed in a blink of an eye, because it looks so cool and so spartan, not to mention that it simply screams high-tech.

This weather-analysis tool attaches to the outside of your window and comes with a very large transparent LCD screen boasting a very good readability in pretty much any lighting conditions; well, it would have been terribly cool if some prismatic lighting had been added to this thermometer so we could read it in the dark, yet this is not a major setback.

To our disappointment, the external window thermometer will only show the temperature in Fahrenheit degrees, and this makes it a products for the American markets only. Yet it also records minimum and maximum values and sports an auto-reset feature. The temperature range is between -13F (-25 degrees Celsius) and 158F (70 Celsius) and the whole gadget is powered by a single AAA battery.

If you're looking for a cheap and functional gift, this 4" x 3.75" x 1.25" external window thermometer could be one great choice as it retails for under $10.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
