MacBook users as well as iMac owners are greeted with an array of updates from Apple today. The company's entire line of MacBook laptops (MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air) has received the EFI Firmware (versions 1.2, 1.5 and 1.0 respectively), but so has the iMac - iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.3 is available for owners of the respective system.

An Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update (1.0) and a firmware update for Restoration CD (1.6) have also been issued by the Cupertino-based computer manufacturer. Click on each update title to download yours.

Apple MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.2 The update fixes several issues to improve the stability of your MacBook computer

MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.5 Stability improvements are also in order for owners of a MacBook Pro laptop.

MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 1.0 The same as for the above notebooks, meaning it improves stability.

iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.3 Although we're entering the iMac sphere, this update also fixes several issues to improve the stability of your (iMac) computer.

Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 This firmware update addresses an issue with the aluminum Apple Keyboard and the aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard where a key may repeat unexpectedly while typing, Apple says. However, this is not the only issue the update addresses, according to the Cupertino-based company. Mac OS X 10.5.2 is required before installing this update.

Last, but certainly not least...

Firmware Restoration CD 1.6 First things first:

NOTE: this firmware update is only aimed at the following computer models, with their respective model identifiers:

Computer - Model Identifier

Xserve (Early 2008) - Xserve2,1 MacBook (13-inch Late 2007) - MacBook3,1 iMac (20-inch Mid 2007) - iMac7,1 iMac (24-inch Mid 2007) - iMac7,1

If you do not see your computer in this table, you may need Firmware Restoration CD 1.3, or 1.4.

What the Firmware Restoration CD does is that it can restore the firmware of an Intel-based Macintosh computer.

Phew... I'm sure glad this piece is over and done with. Don't forget to update your Mac, whatever model you use - they tend to work better afterwards.
