Says Crytek

Crysis Warhead is a standalone expansion to last year’s hit from Crytek. The game follows the adventures of Psycho, one of the side characters of the original game, as he explores another area of the island. The game was well received, but the people at Crytek say that a patch is already in the works.

A Sandbox Editor and Software Development Kit for Mods were supposed to be included on the initial DVD for Crysis Warhead, but it seems that a tight deadline forced the development team, at the Crytek studio in Budapest, to hold them back. Crytek says that they are now putting the finishing touches on both products and that a patch will arrive soon to bring them to gamers. The Mod SDK and the Sandbox Editor will enable fans to create new levels and to totally convert the game into a fresh experience, if they wish. The community is pretty interested in getting them as soon as possible, especially as it seems that some of the multiplayer maps for the original Crysis are not compatible with Crysis Warhead.

It's has been stated that, when it arrives, the patch would include 64 bit files. The original game used them to improve the overall look, especially at long distances, with the graphics sections turned on to high settings. Crysis Warhead uses an optimized graphics engine, so the improvement from those files could be even clearer to the eyes of hardcore gamers.

Be sure to check out the reviews section frequently as we're getting ready to put up a Crysis Warhead review this week. Until then, let me bounce a question off you: why is this game, which is missing 64 bit files and is a lot shorter than the original, still so big on my hard drive?
