In the booming casual games industry, there are only a few titles that really deserve all the praise received by indie developers: those who manage to bring new experiences. And one of the developers who want more than just bringing the same games with different names is Last Day of Work, the company that produced the awesome casual Virtual Villagers series. Thanks to its original take on the casual games world, this sim title has been enjoying a great financial success and we have the proof right in front of us: the third game in the series has been released.

Dubbed Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City, the latest chapter in the best-selling series puts players on the northern shores of Isola, bringing a much larger map than before, a host of new puzzles and mysteries and a few new features like the Tribal Chief or Real Time Weather. The story starts when a new tribe lands on the shores of the island: the village grows and the villagers become curious about the mysteries of Isola, so they start exploring it with your help, using similar mechanics to those in the previous games.

"We've all been wondering what our little villagers have been up to these past months" said Arthur Humphrey, founder of Last Day of Work. "It appears that they have found some kind of a ruined city on another part of the island. I think they could use some help."

Among the new features, the Tribal Chief will probably be the most important one, but Last Day of Work have decided not to offer too many details about what he or she will do - they just said that you'd have to discover who is destined to lead the tribe. Also, thanks to the real-time weather, we'll have rain, clouds and even fog in our village now. Atop of that, we'll also get new surprises thanks to the real time gameplay of Virtual Villagers 3.

The game is available for purchase and, if you have enjoyed the first two titles in the series, you will surely love the third, too.
