A second downloadable content release for Batman: Arkham Asylum will be made available by Eidos tomorrow. "Prey in the Darkness" will feature two new maps, just like the previous DLC. It will offer a new mission for each of the challenge rooms, with the Heart of Darkness offering high-paced combat while the Hothouse Prey is a stealth challenge. Just as the previous freebie from Eidos, it should be designed for all of the three platforms the game is available on, the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The previous DLC, Insane Night, added some new gameplay features, like the option for an endless stream of enemies in the Combat map and a special high security guard for the stealth challenge. The second release sounds more like the original gameplay of the challenge system, but a first-hand experience will offer a better clue. So far, no other DLC has been announced and it remained to be seen if this best-selling game will continue to offer free content.

The DC Comics inspired Batman: Arkham Asylum was snugly embraced by gamers and also received top-notch reviews from critics. The game is a combination of action and stealth missions, most of them clearly separated, as the game sets precise objectives for the gamer. The caped crusader must make his way through the riot that broke out at the Arkham Asylum to defeat the Joker, the mastermind behind this exhibition of chaos and madness.

The game has already won a world record, the "Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever". With a 91.67 average review score it was good enough to sell 2 million copies in its first three weeks since the console debut. Behind the story of the game stands co-writer Paul Dini, who also wrote the script for Batman: The Animated Series and obviously took great part in the success of the game.
