It's wireless, it's Microsoft, it's high-level hardware

Microsoft has launched a fine set of mice and keyboards up to now, and its current release will probably be just as good. Only one difference from the other Microsoft sets: this one is not designed for PC, but for Mac users.

The Mac-aimed set consists of a wireless Comfort Curbe keyboard and a wireless High Definition laser mouse. The technology implemented in the mouse will allow users to navigate with increased precision and to have a greater freedom of movement. The keyboard is designed for Mac users, as it is customized with Mac specific keys and its hotkeys are easily programmable.

The set's main features include customizable buttons, 4-way scrolling, wireless technology and a unique design and style. The keyboards will include a silver finish, comfort curve design, spill resistance, easy access to e-mail and multimedia, while the mouse will feature a tilt wheel and a magnifier tool. Even if the new keyboard lacks the Apple logo, as Apple denied Microsoft's request to include it on the keyboard, a special ?clover" key will perform all the Mac-specific options. The new keyboard is only the latest item in a partnership between Apple and Microsoft, as Microsoft will develop Office programs for Apple, while Apple will give Microsoft access to its technologies.

To use this set, Mac users should have Mac OS X version 10.4x (additional software will be required for older versions), 30MB free space on hard-drive, an available USB port and a CD-ROM drive.

Brigitte Reed, HRD product manager said that Microsoft is committed to enhance "the computing experience for Mac users", as the Redmond producer already launched an office suite for Mac users. "We've been in the business for twenty years, making products for PC and Mac users. We've just never done one for just Mac users.", explained Sean Butterworth, Marketing Communication Manager.
