Among gamers, only a few franchises have really gained the status of icons and are eagerly anticipated when a new iteration appears. One such series is Prince of Persia, which, ever since it first appeared for the PC in 1989, has amazed gamers and industry analysts alike. Its acrobatic gameplay and intriguing stories have captured the interest of generations of gamers and is still going strong, thanks to Ubisoft, its developer and publisher.

The latest title in the series, simply dubbed Prince of Persia, is envisioned as a fresh start for the historic franchise, and, with the help of a bold new art style and story, hopes to get new gamers into the action of the Middle Eastern-themed game. Ubisoft is seemingly very confident in this new game, and has already announced, through the voice of the producer of the title, Ben Mattes, that a significant amount of DLC (Downloadable Content) will make its way to gamers who purchased it.

“We will have DLC for PoP that will feature new content such as a new area, new enemies, a new power and new fight moves. This is not at all a chunk of the game that was supposed to ship but that we didn't finish in time – this is a significant DLC team that has taken all of the lessons they learned during the development of POP and all of the feedback we've read on boards and in reviews and are creating something really special.”

Mattes goes on to say that the future DLC will offer a lot of opportunities for the development team to dig deeper in the personalities of the two protagonists of the game, the Prince and Elika, and the relationship between them. Also, he mentions that, through this new portion of content, the negative feedback received by some fans will be resolved and things will be much better.

Hopefully this new DLC will hit consoles and the PC soon, as the game, despite being pretty entertaining, is really repetitive and relatively short, so some new adventures are more than welcomed from the French company.
