The Scout lets us turn into ninja-ghosts

We're three days short of a full month until Bioshock 2 gets officially released, and the game already promises a lot. We've already seen that 2K Marin plans to make the game somewhat more accessible, so that people that haven't played the original Bioshock can still get a lot out of it, but also that there will be several changes to its multiplayer mode. Now, new things are coming our way regarding the title, and with the help of MTV Multiplayer, we get to take a look at some of its new plasmids and how they work.

There's old and there's new here, and while there are still plenty of similarities, especially between the Level 1 Bioshock 2 plasmids and the ones from the first game, upgrades make a huge difference in power and strategies. There are also a few brand-new additions to the mutagenic arsenal, as well as a new take on the previous one. The biggest new name on the list would be the Scout, a very useful, and somewhat overpowered plasmid by the sound of it. By the looks of it, the Scout will allow you to become a deadly, ghostly visage, and, for once, be the one that instills fear into the world of Rapture.

The Scout turns you into a ghost, ethereal and invisible, and while you can't use any weapons, you can still employ other plasmids, so, as long as you've got enough eve, you're a godlike bringer of death. You can disable turrets or zap any drenched splicers, but you have to make your way back to your physical body if you want to progress. Just make sure you don't leave it somewhere where it can get torn to shreds and return to find a sticky, slimy pile of red jelly-sludge.

Another new plasmid is the Aero Dash that acts basically as a charge, though it's not clear right now if it's a multiplayer exclusive or if we'll be able to use it in the single player as well. The Hypnotize Big Daddy plasmid has become a simple Hypnotize one that can be used on ordinary splicers, but at a hefty eve cut. The returning ones are Cyclone Trap, Electro Bolt, Incinerate! and Winter Blast, who work just as they did in the previous game, but develop secondary abilities when upgraded.
