City building sim titles don't seem to be one of the most sought after types of games over on the Xbox 360 systems, but NinjaBee plans to change things a bit with A Kingdom for Keflings, a special and unique city building game that will be released exclusively for the Xbox Live Arcade later this fall and that promises to bring casual gamers a bit of strategy in their homes.

A Kingdom for Keflings puts players in the shoes of a giant who has the ability to design and build an elaborate city for the locals, called Keflings. Each giant starts out with a handful of helpful Keflings who follow his every command. These little fellows can be trained to become lumberjacks, miners, transporters, sheep shearers, scholars - there are various other professions - as they help build their kingdom from the ground up. I don't know about you, but to me it sounds like a great crossing between the early Settlers games and Black and White. Which is a great premise to start with for a casual title.

"We wanted to make a city building game where the player is more personally involved instead of controlling an abstract floating hand," said Steve Taylor, President of NinjaBee. "A Kingdom for Keflings transports the player to a world they create and allows them to relax, enjoy the world and create a strategy that works for them."

A Kingdom for Keflings promises to bring some stunning visuals on the XBLA and original, addictive music (if you ever played a NinjaBee developed game before, you know that you simply can't get their songs out of your mind). A lot of customization options will be available for players of all ages, such as painting structures or trees and building statues and other works of art. Multiplayer co-op will also be an option, allowing for up to four giants to build their kingdom. And all these will be available this fall, when the game gets released.
