At the Game Developers Conference in Santa Monica, California, this year, one of the top discussion subjects was the rising of Fingerzilla from Unknown to App Store Number One in less than a day. The new position was confirmed by the leading iPhone application portal, www.FreeAppADay.com, which also sets the boost or the downfall of all the new released applications.

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the largest annual gathering of professional video-game developers. The event is focused on learning, inspiration, and networking. This project comprises an expo, networking events, award shows (Independent Games Festival, Game Developers Choice Award), along with a variety of tutorials and lectures given by industry professionals on game-related topics. The main features cover programming, design, audio, production, business, management, and visual arts.

"We are ecstatic with our current results! FreeAppADay.com completely levels the playing field since it allows small developers to directly compete with the major studios without the need of a $100,000 advertising budget," Joe Bayen, CEO at ICS Mobile and founder of FreeAppADay.com, said.

What is Fingerzilla? There is no fairy tale here, that’s for sure. It’s an explosive game of mass destruction designed to please even the most apocalyptical tendency. With only one finger, you can drop chaos upon buildings, cars and people. It has a simple and intuitive interface, but the satisfaction is priceless. And talking about priceless, Fingerzilla is now a free app, but only for a limited time. Fingerzilla is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch and it requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later. Fingerzilla’s main features include:

- Dozens of destructive combos to unleash destruction on the masses; - Named victims to make chomping all the more fun; - Rampage through a suite of levels of varying difficulty and duration; - Scores and stats of all kinds, saved permanently between games; - OpenFeint 2.4 support for online high scores and achievements; - Variety of buildings to smash into rubble; - Incredible B-movie sound and visual effects.

The new version adds some important improvements, such as the slightly increased performance for older phone hardware. Moreover, the ability to purchase add-on content in a mutation pack was also marked, and OpenFient 2.4.4 support is provided.
