Just some more candies until the Eee PC 2.0 kicks in

Memory manufacturer A-Data has just unveiled two new storage accessories especially targeted at the Eee PC users. The S701 USB flash drive and SDHC memory card Eee PC special edition come to complement the default storage space the Eee PC ships with.

One of the most criticized aspects of the extremely popular Eee PC is its reduced storage capacity. Although the maximum amount of 8 GB is enough for running the pre-installed Xandros Linux operating system, switching to Windows XP requires additional software to be installed along with the operating system.

A-Data's SDHC memory card comes in 8GB flavors and can be easily installed via the built-in SDHC reader, which allows the Eee PC enthusiast to use it as a permanent storage device. According to the company, the 8GH SDHC drive can store between 4,000 and 6,000 pictures, more than 2,000 mp3 tracks and between 14 and 16 hours of MPEG videos.

The second item in the "Your Eee PC Gets Accessorized" package is the 8 GB A-Data S701 USB flash drive special Eee PC edition. It comes in an elegant white shell with a genuine leather carrying strap. The company claims that the product won prestigious iF and Red Dot product design awards.

At the moment, there is no word on pricing or availability, but since both the SDHC card and the USB pen drive are just generic pieces of hardware with the Eee PC logo stamped on them, they might arrive with the same price tag as their average siblings.

However, since the Eee PC has become a worldwide obsession for almost any regular computer user, A-Data could take advantage on the sub-notebook's popularity to spice up prices a little bit.

The S701 and SDHC memory card come with a limited life-time warranty.
