Mayan Software announced an update to its popular "Sudoku!" game for iPhone and iPod touch. The 1.8 version adds a new "Relax" game mode that has no timer and modifies the "Challenge" game mode to include the best time for each individual puzzle. The latest release is compatible with iOS 4 and supports multi tasking. Also, it now includes an in-game help screen and consumes less memory.

"Sudoku!" allows both novice and expert players to solve the classic puzzle game from a clear and easy to use interface. All the options are conveniently located on the main screen, allowing quick access to every functionality. 20,000 levels ranging from Easy to Devilish difficulties will keep players busy for hours on end.

The game has two game modes which allow users to play against time or take their time and relax while solving the puzzle. Each puzzle has its own time record, so players can always come back and try to improve their score. Also, an online leader board enables users to compete with other players from around the world.

"Sudoku!" has plenty of features for the novice and expert players alike. Some of the options available within the game include:

• 2 game modes: Relax and Challenge • 5 different difficulty levels: easy, medium, hard, extreme and devilish • Unlimited undo and redo (shake to activate undo) • Save and resume • Global and local leader boards • Puzzle validation • Relaxing music and sound effects • Automatic notes • Hints for each puzzle • Helping features such as Show Repeated Numbers, Smart Buttons and Smart Note.

"Sudoku!" is compatible with iPhone / iPod touch and requires iOS 3.0 or later. The latest release, priced at $0.99, can be grabbed here. Users who want to try out the game before buying can download a lite version here. A variant of the game specially designed for the iPad is also available.
