Panasonic has released some pretty OK SDHC cards to accompany its numerous digital cameras over the past couple of years, and now, the company's back with yet another such product, namely a series of UHS-I Memory Cards.

Without a doubt, Secure Digital memory cards have become a lot more popular these days than they used to be just a couple of years ago, and the main reason for this situation is the fact that there's a huge number of devices out there that use them for storage purposes, from photo and video cameras to Internet tablets and eBook readers, as well as smartphones.

However, the new memory cards introduced by Panasonic target more or less specifically the photo and video segment, given the fact that they provide not only some pretty large storage spaces, but also fast access speeds.

So, the new memory cards are available in 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB capacities, while in the same time offering read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 80MB/s.

But that's not all, since they will apparently also boost consecutive shot capabilities in UHS-I – compliant cameras, while their built-in Super Intelligent Controller (SICS) provides Power Failure Protection, designed to thoroughly protect the data stored within from sudden power failures.

Furthermore, it seems that Panasonic's new SDHC cards can really take a beating, since they're water, shock, magnet, X-ray and temperature proof, while also sporting certain features meant to boost their functioning lives, such as the Refresh Function (extends archival life over 10 times) and Smart Data Writing (minimizes defect risks caused by intensive writing).

All of the new SDHC UHS-I Memory Cards from Panasonic will make their way onto the market at some point over the course of April 2011, but no pricing details regarding either of them have been released thus far.
