Sony Ericsson's Walkman series mobile phones have managed to be among the most appreciated for their performances until now. The Swedish company has prepared for the audience a new impressive 9GB device which is capable of competing with most regular high capacity MP3 players.

This Walkman phone model will actually manage to double the performances which are normally found in the most evolved devices nowadays. "Our new Walkman mobile phone isn't designed as a response to the iPhone but as a further development of the Walkman", a Sony Ericsson spokeswoman said. It seems like people are getting a bit paranoid at every new high tech mobile phone launch, as they keep comparing each one with the iPhone. Still, keeping it real, Sony Ericsson's new release will be far from what Apple has to offer with their soon-to-be released handset. This mobile phone will also include a keypad and will not make high efforts in creating competition for the many other features that the iPhone will come with.

The 9 GB Walkman device that Sony Ericsson will unveil is the only one of the six, set for the conference in Berlin. These handsets will mostly be based on providing solutions for music, imaging and high quality Internet browsing.

Among other mobile phones that Sony Ericsson will release on this occasion there is a 5 megapixel Cybershot one. Moreover, the high-end handsets will also come with Global Positioning System and new Bluetooth headsets.

The company has disclosed the rumors stating that they will also bring out a mobile phone based on a PSP patent which they have recently presented for the public. Such a concept might come on a long term basis from Sony Ericsson, but is not a priority at this time.
