Surveillance is an important part of a security system for any business, that is why major and even small companies allocate a significant budget for implementing high-quality and reliable surveillance systems. And one of the key components of a surveillance system is a camera, which is set to record visual content on a targeted area. IP cameras are among the most used solutions to date, as they tend to be more affordable and reliable.

MOBOTIX is a company that specializes in the manufacturing and developing of surveillance units that relay on IP cameras. The company today announced that an 8GB upgrade option is available for their MOBOTIX M12, D12, M22 and V12 IP cameras. The company also announced that its Mobotix R8 version cameras have eight gigabytes of military-grade solid state storage built inside. This product is claimed to be a world first in security camera technology.

Their R8 cameras are said to be ideal for mobile and rapid deployment surveillance units, where external storage is not viable. The company's cameras can record snapshots or video for up to days without requiring external hard disks or recording PCs. This solution is excellent because it can prove both cost-effective and easy to install. According to the company, their IP cameras have a video management system that runs inside the camera, allowing the users to remotely search and playback the video footage stored in the MOBOTIX camera and simultaneously view live images.

The company's cameras are IP65 rated, which means that they don't require outdoor enclosures or climate control systems. These cameras are said to withstand temperatures from -30 degrees C to 60 degrees C and are resistant to dust, rain and salty air. This makes them reliable to be used in a number of environments.
