It would appear that a certain product from Amazon is still among the best-selling ones that the company has, to the point where certain sources say that they will have sold massively by the end of 2010.

Many people might see the Amazon Kindle as one of, if not the best-selling product that Amazon has.

As it happens, those that think so are probably right, at least in some measure, if a recent report turns out to be holding true information.

Apparently, the e-reader has seen an increasing number of orders, especially after it was top selling product late last year (2009).

For those that do not know, last year's number of Kindle e-book reader sales was 2.4 million, which was a very solid figure partially achieved thanks to the strong holiday season sales.

For 2010, market analysts initially predicted that Amazon would manage to send out about 5 million.

No doubt end-users will see this as an ambitious figure, considering it is more than double that of 2009.

As it happens, however, the estimates might just turn out to have been far too conservative, as odd as it may sound.

The aforementioned report says that Amazon might succeed in reaching and, possibly, surpassing the 8 million shipment mark.

This will truly consolidate the Kindle e-reader's position as a bestseller and further emphasize the appeal that e-book readers have gained.

According to what Amazon disclosed so far, the third generation of Kindle readers was the most successful, more so than they expected, especially during the fourth quarter.

As a reminder, there are two 6-inch WiFi-equipped versions, priced at $139, as well as one with 3G, which sells for $189. Finally, a 9-inch Kindle DX is priced at $379.

Amazon itself, of course, did not actually disclose any shipment figures or sales targets and refused to comment on this report.
