Chinese mobile phone maker TCL has been recently rumored to plan the release of an octa-core smartphone in the not too distant future, namely the Alcatel Touch Idol X+, and some new photos with the device are now available.

The smartphone is rumored to land on shelves with MediaTek’s MT6592 true octa-core processor, while expected to prove the successor of this year’s Alcatel Touch Idol X smartphone.

As mentioned above, there are new images with the device available online, courtesy of GSMInsider, providing us with a better glimpse at its outer design, while also unveiling some more of its features.

One of the close-up photos unveils a dual-SIM slot, where the label SIM2 can be clearly seen on the port cover. Moreover, users can see the phone’s power button placed at the top, alongside the 3.5mm audio jack.

The upcoming handset is expected to be launched in China under TCL’s brand, while set to arrive in other markets around the world as an Alcatel smartphone, the same as other devices from the company.

As PhoneArena notes, the smartphone should be launched in various countries in Asia and Europe, but might not be released in the United States as well.

Rumor has it that the upcoming Alcatel Idol X+ will be launched with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Furthermore, it should hit shelves with 2GB of RAM inside, as well as with a 13-megapixel camera on the back.

No official confirmation on the new mobile phone has been provided as of now, but Alcatel has already confirmed plans to bring an 8-core smartphone on the market soon.

According to the latest reports on this device, it will become official at the beginning of the next year, most probably at CES, and it will also be accompanied by a smartwatch from the Chinese vendor.
