Robert Gibbs' desperate video goes viral, help is already on the way

Robert Gibbs has just turned 23 late last week but he knows he runs the risk of not having another birthday. This is why he made the video below, in the hope that it might go viral and get him the help he needs so badly.

In the clip, Gibbs begs anyone who might see it to spread it online. He's hoping for it to go viral so he can reach out to as many people as possible, people who might help him in some way.

He says he's struggled with obesity his entire life, but it's just now that he's realized things will only get worse if he doesn't do something about it.

He's tried all traditional methods before: he dieted, he worked out and, for a while, he managed to shift the extra weight. It came crawling back though.

Gibbs has been hospitalized twice already because of his weight and, at 23, he can honestly say he never had a life.

He knows this is the last chance he will ever get.

“I'm just trying to get some help from somebody. Nutritionist, personal trainer, Dr. Phil, 'Biggest Loser,' anything... get this to become one of the most watched videos ever. Eventually someone will see it, and then maybe I can get some help,” he pleads in the clip.

He also says that he's recently become an uncle again but, because of his weight, he fears he might never be able to see his niece grow up.

“This is my last chance, my last hope. I'm really scared I’m not going to be able to watch my niece and nephew grow up,” he says.

He is so desperate that he doesn't even care about the negative reactions his video might generate, as long as it gets him the help he needs so badly.

According to the Huffington Post, said help didn't take long before it reached him: 24 hours and 200,000 views after Gibbs posted the clip, he'd already been contacted by professionals who promised they would do whatever they could to get him to lose weight.

“He has received an outpouring of support from both professionals and well-wishers alike. A spokeswoman for the 'Dr. Phil' show has reached out to the young man, as well as several alumni from 'The Biggest Loser' and renowned weight-loss experts,” the Post writes.
