The data dump is fake. None of the credentials can be used to access Twitter accounts

An unknown “hacker” created a number of 5 Pastebin pastes that allegedly hold the account credentials of 55,000 Twitter users. The origin of the data in unknown, but we can say for sure that they’re not usernames and passwords that can access Twitter accounts.

The Hacker News has verified the data as well and they’ve also reported that the leaked details don’t belong to Twitter customers.

Further analysis uncovered the fact that a large part of the data is taken from earlier leaks published on Pastebin by a user called CynPro in June 2011. A majority of the email addresses seem to be owned by users from Brazil.

Because all the passwords are in clear text, we will not publish a link to the data dump, but we assure everyone that their Twitter accounts are not in danger of being hijacked, at least not because of this leak.
