After the MET Gala this year, on their way to the car at the end of an afterparty, Solange attacked Jay Z in an elevator, while sister Beyonce looked on without intervening. Video from a surveillance camera in the elevator was sold to the media and the brouhaha was so great that even 50 Cent couldn’t help himself but crack a few jokes about it.

As the world waited (the phrase “with bated breath” comes to mind) for Beyonce, or Jay, or Solange to say something about the beatdown, Fiddy posted a video to his Instagram in which he offered commentary to the video, which had no audio.

His fans and followers had a blast – as did he, without a doubt – but, on a more serious note, Fiddy says that Jay did the right thing by not hitting Solange back. He stopped by Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club and his feud with Jay came up.

One thing led to another and, as you can see in the video below starting at around the 36-minute mark, he was speaking about the elevator video. *Please note that discretion is recommended when viewing the clip because it contains language that might offend.

Fiddy finds it hilarious that Jay would dodge whenever Solange spit at him but he admits that he would have probably not been able to control himself the way Jay did.

However, he adds fuel to the fire by saying that he can’t imagine why Beyonce wouldn’t intervene when, one time at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, she nearly picked a fight with him because she thought he and her husband had a beef, and she wanted to come to Jay’s defense.

“One time she jumped off of a ledge and came running over cause she thought me and Jay had issues. And I’m like, “What the [expletive]? Did she really just jump and run up on me like that?’ She jumped out and I was like this, ‘What?! That Bonnie and Clyde for real! You try this or what, boy?! I’m here!’ She bugged out at me,” 50 Cent says.

“She was like, ‘Wassup?!’ I looked and Jay starts laughing. He’s like, ‘Yo, you know what it is’,” the rapper recalls.

For the record, 50 Cent and Jay Z have been feuding on and off since 1999, but he does make a good point with saying that Beyonce is very possessive and protective. This isn’t the first time that reports of her feistiness, especially when it comes to Jay, emerge online.

Again, this makes the fact that she didn’t try to restrain Solange or at least prevent her from attacking her husband even odder and, at the same time, supports the theory that she didn’t act because Solange was actually defending her somehow. Word has it that Solange attacked either because she’d seen Jay flirt with another woman at the party they were leaving or because he’d said nasty things to Beyonce.
