Sony just released a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card of 4GB, in order to offer increased storage capacity for mobile phone users. The product includes a useful M2 USB adaptor , in order to make it easier to transfer files between the card and a PC.

As mobile phones nowadays pack more and more evolved features, users will surely want to have as much data storage space as possible to make the best of the handset's features. This is especially the case with music phones, which have to compete with dedicated MP3 players that sometimes come equipped with a huge data storage space.

The new Sony Memory Stick Micro (M2) card is especially targeted toward mobile phone users. Because of the included M2 USB adaptor, it turns out to be an excellent solution for users who don't have a computer with a built-in or external Memory Stick card reader. This new line-up comes in several sizes, from 512MB up to the new 4GB capacity, as to match a wide variety of the user's data storage needs.

Just to hint on the possibilities of this product, Sony used its latest released devices as examples, although the same should go with mobiles from any handset producer. The card allows the storage of 3700 digital photos, on the K850 Cyber-shot phone, complete with 5 megapixel camera, while it also makes it possible for music phones, such as the W910 Walkman, to store 4000 songs or 45 hours of video footage.

There is also an optional M2 adaptor kit available, containing a M2 Duo-size Adaptor and an M2 Standard-size Adaptor. This should prove to be great for those users who wish to transfer personal data from an M2 card to any other Memory Stick compatible device.

Sony's Memory Stick Micro (M2) card will be available starting this November. This means that it should be out on the market in the near future, expanding the possibilities of mobile phones.
