Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has already confirmed plans to come to the market with handsets that would run under Microsoft's upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system, and a few more info on the matter emerged recently. User agent strings confirm that HTC has at least two Windows Phone 7 devices under development, and that they would be called HTC Mozart and HTC Mondrian.

The HTC Mondrian has been spotted into the wild before, but, while at the time no confirmation on the handset's actual existence emerged, the user agent string available here shows clearly that this might be one of the first HTC handsets to run under Microsoft's new platform. As for the HTC Mozart, its user agent string (available here) is similar with HTC Mondrian's which suggests that we might be looking at one and the same device, though aimed at different carriers, as a recent article on mobiletechworld notes.

In addition to these two (or only one) Windows Phone 7 mobile phones, HTC is also said to be working on another device powered by the operating system, called Schubert, and which should arrive at T-Mobile in the US sometime in November. It seems that this handset was present on the recently leaked T-Mobile roadmap, though no one knew what platform it was running under. The info on Schubert being a Windows Phone 7 device, as well as on the other HTC handsets, comes from conflipper via Twitter.

For what it's worth, HTC might be determined to prove that it still remains the largest provider of handsets powered by Microsoft's mobile platform. In addition to the aforementioned devices, rumor has it that the company would launch a so called HTC Gold smartphone in the UK sometime before the end of the ongoing year. According to WMPoweruser, the handset made it into the wild before, and might arrive in the US too, via Sprint. Unfortunately, no specifications on these devices emerged for the time being.
