Envive Inc. is solely known for ingenious custom made devices. Its new Custom Home Media Server line claims to offer solutions for every budget. Envive will begin to take preorders for the E-Center Pro model as soon as September 20, 2006. The Texan company posted a $2499 price tag and availability due October for its E-Center Pro Home-Media Server on its website last Friday. This piece of equipment has been designed to serve as the center of the entire home's media network. It features many cutting-edge features such as the new Dolby Home Audio Certificate, up to 8 Digital TV Tuners, as much as 4.5 TB storing space of RAID arrayed HDDs which are normally found on servers costing 5 times as much as the E-Center Pro.

E-Center Pro and E-Center will be the first to run on proprietary EnviveOS. The holiday season will see a second rack-mount version featuring hot swappable storage support. EnviveOS will allow customers to record, store, access and share their digital media from up to eight sources of HDTV content.

Other outstanding features include: Intel Viiv Certified Platform powered by Core 2 Duo CPUs, 8 GB DDR2 clocked at 677 Mhz or 4 GB DDR at 800 Mhz Memory module arrays, Windows Media Center 2005 and Vista compliance, DVI/HDMI Video Output with HDCP support, 7.1 audio channels with SPDIF, Dual Layer DVD +/- RW and Blu-Ray Disc drive or HD-DVD drive, Gigabit LAN NIC and built in VFD and IR receiver.
