When it rains, it pours, and when it comes to the availability of HTC Desire on the UK market, the news of it running out of stock keep on coming. Wireless carrier 3UK will have the device in stores on April 20, but it already has no units available for existing customers interested in an upgrade. The company will offer the Android-based mobile phone both for Pay Monthly users, and unlocked for Pay As You Go customers.

“Just to confirm, we have now sold through our current batch of upgrade Desire stock. If you have already spoken to us and had your order and deal confirmed then don’t worry, you’re covered. If you haven’t spoken to us yet, then I’m afraid we won’t be able to pre-upgrade you to the Desire at the moment,” the carrier announced on April 17. However, it seems that the device will arrive in stores tomorrow, and that existing 3UK customers should thus be able to upgrade if they choose to do so.

The HTC Desire is set to become available for purchase for free with a 24-month contract on a £35.00 Internet Texter price plan, which includes 750 minutes, Unlimited texts, Unlimited Internet and free Spotify for the duration of the contract. Other offerings are also in place, with the handset priced at £99.99, on a £35 Texter plan for 18 months, to up to £199.99 on a £15 Texter plan. The carrier's Pay As You Go customers will be able to purchase the HTC Desire for £349.99 unlocked. More details are available on 3UK's website.

“As I’ve said above, our first batch of Desires (available from launch) will be unlocked. This is the firmware HTC have confirmed for us – RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4 – but they could update this at any time,” a 3UK staff member stated on the carrier's blog. It seems that the company will try to have a batch of Desire units available for its users at launch, though it should be interesting to see how fast it will run out of stock again.
