The drive can work just fine with a PC or Mac system too

Owners of DVRs or smart TVs might want to buy an external HDD, so Freecom, part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Group, decided to make a very special one.

Thus it was that the Hard Drive Sq came to be, a 3.5-inch external unit with a square shape.

It comes in capacities of 1 TB, 2 TB and 3 TB and uses the USB 3.0 connection.

That allows transfer speeds of up to 130 MB/s and, thus, can back up/copy content quite quickly.

USB recording and playback can be done easily by plugging the cable into a TV (including TV show recording).

Linking to a PC is very easy too. Even Apple Mac systems are supported.

Alas, we don't have any pricing details to impart, so keep an eye on your local retailer in case you are in the market for things like this.
