The Digital Media System 710 uses "Space saving technology"

3M gave out info about their "soon to be released" portable projector. Yeap, you read correctly. It's portable all right! The device comes with Vikuiti Super Close Projection and Bollywood, err, HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) for shooting high resolution images (even on small kitchen walls).

The thing can throw an 60 inches wide image from only 30 inches away from the screen on your kitchen wall. If you put the device at 50 inches from the wall, you can even get a larger 100 inch image. Finally, video cooking lessons will be easier to follow now. Space saving technology by 3M. Yeah!

The maximum carried resolution is 1024 X 768. The contrast ratio is 1200:1 and the on-board sound is full Dolby 5.1. The 710 can work without being hooked to a PC. It features an USB media reader so you can check your photos or Bollywood movies directly from media cards. It weighs 4,8 kg and has a lamp life of 2000 hours.

I'm guessing it's targeted at kindergarten teachers. No? Damn. It could hardly be a good choice if you're looking for a movie projector. The low resolution and the price will probably scare you off. And, evidently, it's not one of those "expensive" business projectors. But, hey, it's portable, eh? You can take this with you while camping or you may carry it on your business trips or world tours. Think about it! You could even throw a lovely Indian movie on the wall of your trailer. Your ma' would be so proud of you!

I know you're eager to try this out while caravanning, but there is no info about any release date or price. Nada.
