Among its numerous other fields of interest, 3M has also been actively involved in the pocket projector segment over the past couple of years, and for this reason, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that they've also released such a product at CES 2011, namely the MP180, that offers a rather decent brightness level in an ultra-compact form factor. Beside the 32 ANSI lumen brightness level and the SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) resolution, the new MP180 projector from 3M also comes equipped with a touch screen, for easier operation, plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, that will enable users to transfer files a whole lot easier to the projector.

And if you're wondering about where the respective files will be stored, you should know that the pocket projector also packs 4GB of internal memory, plus a micro SD card slot and USB port for further extending the amount of available storage.

According to 3M, their pico projector will also support Adobe Flash, letting users easily display web pages and videos when connected to a computer of smartphone, while also integrating an MP3 player, an audio output and coming with an integrated flip stand, tripod and a variety of input cables, that offer the MP180 quite an impressive level of versatility.

“The 3M MP180 is our brightest and best-equipped projector to date,” said Mark Colin, vice president, 3M Mobile Interactive Solutions Division, adding that “its unmatched versatility and superior image quality is perfect for the mobile road warrior. And, with two-hours battery life, people can rest assured that they will be able to get through just about any presentation without needing to recharge.”

The MP180 is available for pre-order as we speak and will begin shipping in late January, the estimated pricing being set at cool $449.
