The 3G enabled iPhone has not arrived with the European launch of the device. Apple tries to cheer up those expecting a new, upgraded version of the handset by promising that it is surely going to come sometime during year 2008.

Apple has just announced the iPhone's release on the European market and set a date for it. The handset will start shipping on the 9th of November, in the UK, for the price of 269 pounds (about USD 540). A large number of people have been expecting this moment for some time now, which made it great news for them.

Steve Job's announcement for the European release of the iPhone has proved to be disappointing for some fans. After the long wait, they were expecting to receive something more special than what Apple had released on the US market this summer. Rumors have also contributed to these high hopes, stating that there are all chances for Europe to receive a 3G enabled iPhone, adding the one feature which set the mobile phone back a few steps in the users' preferences.

The iPhone will surely receive a major upgrade to 3G performances, said Steve Jobs during the London launch. Still, there is some time left to wait, as the company will make this step only sometime during next year. This time it is no longer a rumor, but a confirmation that a 3G enabled iPhone will come in the future. Another high chance is that this new version of the mobile phone will also include GPS, a highly sought for feature at this time. It's still a problem, as the upgraded iPhone will probably come just as the USD price cut has: when all the Apple fans will get their devices under normal terms.

Other rumors going by recently also featured information concerning the possibility of a 16GB memory boost for the European iPhone. That proved to be false as well, although Apple mentioned nothing on this possibility, may it be a denial or confirmation.
