Well, technically it's layers of cocoa powder and sugar sprayed with water

Chocolate is one of if not the most popular sweets in the world, and it also happens to be easy to mold into any shape, because it melts when heated even slightly, so it's not such a shock to learn that 3D Systems chose it for its car-shaped confections.

You read it right, 3D Systems is making cars out of chocolate. Very small cars, to be sure, but cars nonetheless.

Its latest confection is a 3D printed Ford Mustang, as part of a collaboration with car maker Ford.

Cocoa powder is used to produce a chocolate bar shaped like the car. Layers and layers of chocolate powder are blasted by water from inkjet heads.

There is some excess powder at the end of the process, but it can be brushed off.

Finally, the chocolate car is heated and finished, giving it that lustrous gleam that all chocolate desserts should have.
