The No10 will have its outer shell made via selective layer sintering

You'd think that the sheer invention of an atomic pocket watch would be considered the greatest achievement of an inventor, at least for a while, but that's not what Dr. Richard Hoptroff believes.

He has just introduced the No10 atomic pocket watch, but instead of boasting about the achievement itself, he thinks that 3D printing is the most important part of it.

And we suppose he does have a point. According to him, 3D printing technology is key if his company, Hoptroff Watches, is to keep batch sizes down and allow for design changes and complicated shapes that would otherwise be impossible.

It's a good thing that metal 3D printing is possible, since the case of the watch is made of gold.

The prototype watch isn't 3D printed, but Hoptroff has spent the past year implementing the tech.
