3D printing technology can be used to make pretty much anything, so it shouldn't be a shock to learn that an entire event was dedicated to glasses.

Although, technically, that's not perfectly accurate, since glasses aren't the only type of personal eyewear in the world.

Anyway, a 3-day weekend workshop has begun at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The workshop is focused on 3D Printed Eyewear Design and is the result of a partnership between Eyewear Designer Jeffrey Leung and SizeChina.

The event should give all participants hands-on experience on creating personal eyewear brands, even if nothing sales-worthy turns up in the first draft.

There are bound to be more workshops like this later down the line, but there's no set date yet. For now, we can only wait and see if any invention rises above the rest.
