It's one thing to say that 3D printing technology can be used in even the most advanced technological endeavors, and another thing to actually see it happen. With the Koenigsegg Agera One:1, we didn't see it happen, but we definitely get to see the result.

Long story short, the Koenigsegg Agera One:1, a car with a top speed of around 273 mph and 1,321 horsepower, was made with 3D printed components.

Now only out of 3D printed components, but some very important ones, specifically the 3D printed variable turbo housing (which gives improved response and bottom end torque) and the 3D printed titanium exhaust end piece (saves 400 grams compared to aluminum).

Converted into the metric system, the Agera One:1 megacar has a power to weight ratio of 1:1, 1,340 metric horse power to 1,340 kilograms. That's where the name comes from actually.

Agera One:1 is the way Swedish automobile manufacturer Koenigsegg chose to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

It's a crying shame that you'll probably never own one, or even come in the close vicinity of one. Koenigsegg is only making six, and they've all been pre-sold already.

You can see the car in the image above. It looks a lot like one of those toys from Hot Wheels toy car and track sets, but it's real all right.
