The remains of a female woolly mammoth are set to go on display at an exhibition hall in Tokyo this coming July 13. They will be kept there until September 16.

The researchers who have had the chance to examine the animal's remains say that the female mammoth used to roam the Earth about 39,000 years ago. Daily Mail explains that this mammoth was discovered in Russia only a couple of months ago. When specialists first stumbled upon the carcass, they were utterly delighted.

That was because blood coming from the animal had somehow got trapped in the ice under its body, and scientists were finally able to collect a well-preserved blood sample from this species.

Researchers deny having any such plans, but many hope that they will use the blood they found in Russia to clone at least one mammoth.
