Master Chief played a central part in the recently launched Blue Team cinematic introduction for Halo 5: Guardians and the development team at 343 Industries is aiming to deliver some more information about it for the most dedicated fans of the franchise.

On the Halo Waypoint, cinematic animator Matt Campbell says that one of the main aims for his team was to deliver a very different experience from the opening cinematic, which features Agent Locke and his own Fireteam Osiris.

He adds, "Blue Team is a highly efficient, close-knit group of Spartan-II soldiers. Unlike Locke’s team, the members of Blue Team have participated in hundreds of combat missions together. That war-forged experience led to an unbreakable bond that we wanted to embrace and showcase in order to create a sense of contrast between the two squads."

343 Industries says small moments and interactions are designed to show the tight connections between the characters and serve as an explanation for their impressive performance in Halo 5: Guardians.

The attached images show the actors playing Blue Team preparing some of the biggest moments in the cinematic and how the footage has evolved from the planning stage to the finished product.

Halo 5: Guardians aims for variety and drama

The single-player campaign of the game is offering two perspectives, those of Master Chief and Agent Locke, on some massive events, and 343 Industries is also including full cooperative play in the shooter.

This means that more characters than ever will be involved in the action, which will visit some important landmarks, including Sangehlios.

Halo 5: Guardians will also deliver a suite of changes for the multiplayer, with a host of new abilities for all Spartans, including a sprint and more mobility, with the stated aim being to add dynamism to the battles.

The development team is introducing a new Warzone experience, which mixes PvP and PvE elements and features the biggest maps the franchise has ever featured, but also a more competitive Arena experience and Capture the Flag.

Big Team Battle is set to be launched after the shooter is out and will come complete with its own set of environments.

Halo 5: Guardians will be launched only on the Xbox One on October 27.
