Although Halo 5 has not been officially announced, the timing is impeccable

Although Halo 5 has not yet been explicitly announced by 343 Industries, the studio seems to be preparing for a big reveal at this year's edition of the E3 convention.

The company has so far debunked the authenticity of some screenshots leaked earlier this year in January, and now they're shifting their production efforts up a gear, resulting in a bunch of new hires for the American video game maker.

Microsoft Game Sudios President Phil Spencer has informed that we'll get to know more about the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and the direct consequence is that the development team has since been pushing hard in order to wow gamers at the upcoming convention.

"E3 planning is looking good, will have a lineup of new, announced, unannounced and hopefully unexpected," Spencer stated.

The eleven job listings cover a wide variety of areas from concept and environmental art, graphics engineering, multiplayer level design and software development to testing and sound production.

The ads reveal some information regarding the nature of the project, and the timing also gives it away, as it fits just too well with the studio attempting to polish gameplay as much as possible in order to be able to provide some adequate footage at E3.

"343 Industries is seeking a Lead Level Designer to drive the design of multiplayer maps for a future FPS experience set in the Halo universe," one of the listings reads, adding that the position requires "mastery of multiplayer map design and layout, with a deep understanding of the relationship between level geometry and the creation of a balanced multiplayer shooter experience." Quite revealing.

The game was initially announced at E3 2013, with an animated trailer showing Master Chief wandering around a desolate desert environment, and so far, both the developer and publisher have kept a tight lid on the development process.

So far, it is only known that the game will run at a smooth 60 frames per second and will take advantage of Microsoft's Azure cloud servers in the same manner that Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall does.

Microsoft is also expected to present Halo 2 Anniversary Edition, which should come out later this year on the Xbox One, with rumors going around about the game coming with a beta invite for Halo 5.

Former Halo studio Bungie is also preparing its highly anticipated and genre-bending shooter Destiny, currently scheduled for release on September 9, 2014.
