In late September, supermarket chain Tesco introduced its own branded Android tablet called Hudl. Even if at first, the slate might have been regarded with a bit of skepticism, it appears customers have gotten over their initial doubts and are wholeheartedly grabbing the tablets off shelves.

Tesco has packed some pretty decent specifications within Hudl, attaching a super attractive price of £119 / $193 / €142, so it’s no wonder the product has been selling so well.

In a recent statement, the retail giant announced it managed to sell as much as 300,000 units in the two months since it released the device. Just a few days after rolling out the Hudle, the company reported 35,000 units have been purchased from brick and mortar locations and the official website.

“The customer response to the launch of our Hudl tablet has been very strong, with over 300,000 units sold to date.”

“This is more than we had originally planned to sell in total in the run-up for Christmas. Hudl has also received critical acclaim as one of the best-value tablets on the market," reads the statement.

If you want a Hudl tablet this Christmas, you better hurry up, as we are told that many Tesco stores have run out of tablets at the moment and they are waiting to be re-stocked.
