Hoping for more support

I quite like the new expansion for Hearts of Iron 3 as it eliminates most of the issues with the original launch and makes the entire experience much more engaging. After quite a few games with the beta version of the 2.01 patch, here are three tings that I believe Semper Fi still needs to be on the level of Europa Universalis III with the Heir to the Throne add on.

1 – More national politics options. The number of ministers for most nations is quite limited and the various random events that pop up are not enough to show how a nation went through the turmoil of the pre-war period and through the conflict itself.

Democracies should be much more animated, with the parties actually maneuvering around each other to gain power and with the results of the various battles having an impact not just on National Unity but also on internal politics. Various mods are trying to add an extra layer of depth but Paradox itself would do well to consider the Home Front as a subject of interest for a possible expansion.

2 – A better balance for the naval game. Subs were pretty much useless in the 1.0 version of Hearts of Iron 3 but now they seem a bit overpowered, with the Artificial Intelligence of Japan and the United Kingdom pretty sure victims for a resolute human player. There's also a strong implication that a nation should choose between destroyers and light cruisers, then research and build just one of the categories.

3 – More options for collaboration between allies and factions. Sure, you can now actually set objectives for the people who are allied and they try their best to get there as long as they have the resources but coordination (especially between the Western Allies) should be much better, with the final goal being the inclusion of a way to intertwine command structures and pull off something similar to the real-life Operation Overlord.
