That means it possesses a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels

For a while there, we actually thought that yet another UHD display was upon us, but that's not the case after all. The new monitor from ViewSonic does, indeed, go beyond Full HD 91920 x 1080), but not to that degree.

Which is to say, the native resolution of the 27-inch VP2772 Adobe Color QHD display is 2560 x 1440 pixels, or QHD (quad-HD), because the number of pixels on the screen is four times higher than on Full HD.

ViewSonic invented the VP2772 Adobe Color QHD display for photographers, and those that like to perform graphics design, media creation, 3D world building, etc.

The name should have been enough of a hint towards that actually. After all, Adobe Photoshop is the premier image editing software in the world. Adobe worked long and hard to make sure of that.

"Color performance is of the utmost importance to our professional series customers," said Kenneth Mau, product marketing manager for ViewSonic.

"The VP2772 delivers the ultimate in image quality with its Adobe Color capability and a 10-bit panel that delivers 1.07 billion colors. It is also equipped with all the premium features the pros need including flexible connectivity options, and daisy chain functionality."

The 27-inch ViewSonic monitor covers 99% of the Adobe RGB color space, thanks to the advanced 12-bit color engine and 14-bit LUT that processes up to 68.7 billion colors.

The company says this all leads to true-to-life colors. That's not exactly true of course, since no display technology exists that can perfectly reproduce true color, even when a White LED is added to the RGB set (which is not the case here). Still, VP2772 gets close enough.

Of course, the use of a SuperClear IPS panel helps, calibrated with a Delta E3 value which allows for balance between consistent, accurate colors and viewing angles.

ViewSonic's VP2772 ships with HDMi and DVI inputs and four USB 3.0 ports. Its stand can tilt, pivot and swivel, as well as modify its height. Sales will start around the middle of October for $999 / €738.
