Since Gmail is one of the top email technologies on the web and it is included in the Google Apps suite, the Mountain View company has been really focused on it, planning to keep the solution the best on the web. Today, Google makes a major step to reach its goal as it decides to offer 25 GB of additional storage size to all the Google Apps customers at no charge. According to Reuters, this is a result of the Postini acquisition, the company which recently joined Google and seems to come with several anti-spam filters for the Gmail users. The storage capacity is pretty important for many of us and some consumers who are using Gmail as the main email account are sending tons of messages every day.

Unfortunately, this special offer is currently available only for the Apps customers and Google didn't say a word about a potential expansion of the campaign. However, you're still able to buy some extra-GB by paying for it as Google recently debuted a special program to increase consumers' storage size.

"This highlights the benefits of the software as a service model. It is virtually unlimited (e-mail) storage for business users. This is hard to replicate with the Microsoft Exchange model of locally installed software," said Matthew Glotzbach, project manager for Google Enterprise, the business unit responsible for Google Apps, according to Reuters.

In case you didn't know, Google Apps is a suite of utilities powered by the Mountain View company which bundles several tools such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs & Spreadsheets and many other services especially addressed to small and large companies. However, Google Apps also comes in a freeware version which allows anybody to register for an account without paying for it.
