In March this year, the Internet uncovered its latest viral star: a 25-year-old nun who showed up at the blind auditions for The Voice Italy and wowed all 4 judges / mentors with her impressive voice. Suor Cristina is now the winner of the most recent season of the show.

If your Italian is better than average, you will find the moment she was crowned winner embedded in the second video below. She won with over 62 percent of all the votes and, The Huffington Post informs, she took a moment at the end to say a prayer and thank God for helping her through her amazing journey.

“My presence here is not up to me, it’s thanks to the man upstairs,” she said, before starting to recite the Lord’s Prayer.

The first video embedded below is of her last performance on the show, “What a Feeling,” which got the entire audience up on their feet cheering for her. What with her voice and charm and the fact that she’s so highly “connected,” it’s not that surprising that she won, is it?

During her stay on the show, Suor Cristina was mentored by rapper J-Ax, who was actually moved to tears when he got up on stage when she was named winner. This was the first time his team won anything, but he was also moved that she had proved to the world that talent can come from the most surprising places.

Suor Cristina’s other performances included “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper, “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” by Kylie Minogue and “Beautiful That Way” by Noa, and, of course, the song that started it all at the auditions, Alicia Keys’ “No One.”
