If you thought the scandal developed around the latest title of the GTA franchise was huge, wait until the release of 25 To Life, and then you'll get a taste of what a true American scandal really means.

With respect to GTA, 25 to Life will look like the explosion of a shell compared to that of a grenade, and the concept of game violence could reach a whole new level that would really set the anti-violence activists on fire.

25 To Life intends to present life from the point of view of a gangster or a cop, which are engaged in a continuous battle in the streets. The player can choose what part they want to play in this confrontation, either on the side of the law or against it.

The sceneries are specific to modern American cities, and the game also has a multiplayer component, in which up to 16 players can fight one another.

Up until now, Eidos hadn't announced a release date for the game, but today, a post on the site mentioned that its PC, Xbox and Play Station versions will be released in October 2005.

The game has already been the subject of a scandal, an American senator trying to block its development and distribution. So now we're really looking forward to October, to see what this game is all about.
