People may or may not know that the IFA trade show is on the way, but IT players definitely do, though not all are reacting by hoarding their products, since LG came out and launched a pair of LCDs instead of waiting.

Whenever an IT electronics show approaches, IT companies have a tendency to slow down in their product releases.

This enables them to bring more than a few new and revised products at the event, although this rule does not hold true in all cases.

LG is one company that saw no harm in releasing a pair of un-priced, LED-backlit liquid crystal displays ahead of the occasion, even though one of them (D237IPS) stands out quite a bit.

Bearing the name of LG D237IPS, the D-Sub and DVI-equipped model has a diagonal of 23 inches and features, as the name implies, an IPS panel, plus a stand that lets it rotate from portrait to landscape vew..

What truly makes it a high-end item, however, is the Film Pattern Retarder (FPR) 3D technology.

Obviously, the product can render 3D images, and LG even went ahead and implemented a 2D to 3D conversion function as well.

Meanwhile, the native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (FuLL HD) is complemented by a brightness of 250 cd/m2 (100 in 3D mode) and a DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 5,000,000:1.

Meanwhile, the LG E91, as the other 23-inch monitor is called, belongs to the same Flatron series and has a DCR of 10,000,000:1, plus brightness of 250 cd/m2, Full HD resolution, 2ms GTG (gray to gray) response time and viewing angles of 170 and 160 degrees. 3D is absent.

“These monitors aren’t just for work and internet browsing, they were designed to be the center of entertainment for any bedroom, study or dormitory,” said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.

“The E91 and D237IPS combine elegant design and unique technology to look great in any room and still be able to de-liver exceptional images and videos.”
