HP may have said it plans to spin off its PC business, but until it does, it will continue to bring out new products, such as the new enterprise-oriented Compaq Elite series all-in-one.

HP recently said it was not only scrapping all webOS tablet and phone plans, but also that its PC branch would separate from the whole.

As some may have guessed, certain parties were not overly enthused by the prospect, for a variety of reasons.

Still, whatever happens in the end, it will take some time, during which new products will still come out.

In this case, it is the Compaq 8200 Elite all-in-one PC that is making the news, with its 23-inch frame, Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), Intel processors and Intel Q67 Express chipset, LED backlighting and various other features.

Essentially, it is optimized for the public sector and brings the benefits of SRS Premium Sound, up to 8 GB of RAM, mini PCI Express, Intel Turbo Boost, Intel vPro and the option of using SSDs, for fast data access and cooler, not to mention quieter, operation.

“Another industry first in our Elite desktop family demonstrates our commitment to engineering excellence and underscores our global leadership in secure, enterprise computing,” said Jeff Groudan, director, Commercial Desktop Marketing, HP.

“The HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One delivers outstanding hardware and software innovation to move the needle in the all-in-one category.”

In order to provide security, HP threw in the TPM 1.2 security ship, which performs hardware encryption. HP ProtectTools (HP DriveLock, HP Digitalpass and HP Face recognition) are made available as well.

Sales of the HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One Appears should start at $999 for prospective customers stationed in the United States. Intel Standard Manageability and HP BIOS features, plus ease of deployment, are all part of the list of assets that the AiO comes with.

UPDATE: Added the mention of the screen resolution.
